Man held after drugs find

Drugs and counterfeit money were seized by drug squad police in a raid in Birzebbuga yesterday.

The police said a 29-year-old man from Birzebbuga was held after he was allegedly found in possession of sachets containing cocaine. The man was stopped by officers following days of observation after he was suspected of trafficking drugs.

A search at his residence yielded 70 grams of amphetamines, 46 grams of cannabis leaves, an amount of cannabis resin and Lm450 in counterfeit money, the police said.

The man is expected to be charged in court shortly.
