Competition winners at winelands

Adrian Bonnici and Sandra Agius were the winners of the "118 Wine-maker for a day experience" competition held by Net TV's lifestyle programme 118 in conjunction with The Times' Showtime Club Culture supplement.

The winners spent a day at the Gambino winelands and were also given a tour of the winelands and cellars, and spent the afternoon tasting Gambino wines and Sicilian specialities. The winners also visited Etna.

Both winners learnt more about the art of wine-making and some Gambino family winemaking secrets and tricks of the trade while listening to Francesco Gambino's lecture about the family's new ventures, namely the experimentation with new grapes.

Exclusive footage of the Gambino winelands and the 118 Club members' experience will be broadcast in the autumn edition of 118, broadcast on Thursday at 6.10 p.m. on Net TV in October.
