Three held over drugs

Three young men are being detained by the police for questioning in connection with the discovery of 30 ecstasy pills and cannabis resin over the weekend at Senglea.

The police said the drugs' find climaxed observations by the Drugs Squad at Senglea Point following reports that youths were observed trafficking drugs in that area.

The police said that 25 of the pills and the resin were found in the possession of a 19-year-old.

The police believe that the drugs were to be trafficked at a discotheque in the central part of Malta.

The other two arrested, aged 20 and 17, were found in possession of the rest of the ecstasy pills.

The three are expected to be charged in court in the coming days.
