Jean-Francois de Clermont, owner of the sailing boat Scherzo has won the 11th edition of La Bordee Maltaise - a sailing race which started off in the popular tourist town of Le Lavandou in France and ended in Malta.
The regatta is organised jointly by the Malta Tourism Authority's Paris office, the Le Lavandou Town Hall and the Club des Passionées. It is geared towards stimulating tourism between Malta and France. In fact, the MTA's Paris office utilises the race to promote Malta in the south of France as well as to promote Air Malta flights from Marseilles.
The winners were presented with prizes at the Fortina Hotel in Sliema by Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.
Le Lavandou deputy mayor Charlotte Bouvard attended the ceremony.
Prior to the departure of the vessels, a Malta Week was held in Le Lavandou, which included a photo exhibition by photographer Daniel Cilia.
