A Libyan man was yesterday jailed for four months for the possession of three ecstasy pills on the outskirts of Paceville.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano found Wahid Ahmed Elawami, 29, guilty of the possession of the pills in a place frequented by young people.

This, he said, was like "taking gunpowder close to a fire" and a jail term was appropriate.

Police Inspector Nadia Lanzon prosecuted.
