This children's coin-operated ride in the form of a rocket is installed near It-Torri, in Sliema, very near to the Tower Road playground in front of Sir Adrian Dingli Street. It apparently works by a hydraulic scissors lift arm that takes the rocket cabin up and down about one metre.

The picture clearly shows that when the cabin is at the maximum lift a small child can very easily crawl or walk underneath the mechanism which, consequently, lowers the hydraulic arm flat to the base when in the rest position.

Does this "machine" have any form of safety sensors and if not where is the safety barrier? May I ask the Sliema local council and the health and safety authorities how safe is this joy ride machine.
