Enemalta staff are working to restore the power supply in parts of the University of Malta and in Tal-Qroqq, Msida, following a fault that occurred when a private contractor was carrying out works on the sewage system at the university yesterday morning, Enemalta said yesterday.
While regretting the inconvenience caused, Enemalta explained that the fault in a power cable that supplied electricity to parts of San Gwann, Kappara and Mriehel occurred at 6.22 a.m. Power was restored in all localities by 10.16 a.m. and Enemalta was carrying out repairs to the cable.
On Monday, a fault in a power cable linking Msierah distribution centre to Tower Road substation in Sliema disrupted power in parts of Sliema and Gzira. The service was restored in the affected localities by Monday night and works to repair the faulty cable are under way.
A fault in a power cable that links the Bugibba Holiday Complex substation with the substation at Islet Promenade in Bugibba occurred on Sunday and repairs have been completed, Enemalta said.
