Man held after car chase

A man, who had just stolen a stereo from a car, was arrested by the police yesterday afternoon after a car chase.

The police said they were informed at 1 p.m. about a man stealing from cars at Delimara. Officers from the Birzebbuga police station immediately investigated the report and noticed the man in a car near Bir id-Deheb.

As soon as he spotted the police, the suspect tried to escape and the police gave chase until he was arrested in Fgura.

A stereo which he had allegedly just stolen was found in his possession.

The man is to be arraigned shortly.
