Tonight at the Farsons Great Beer Festival

The first weekend of the Farsons Great Beer Festival at the gardens of Ta' Qali National Park is turning out to be another success. The festival continues tonight with more performances by leading Maltese singers and bands, food and, of course, Farsons' great range of beers. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and entrance is free.

"Moonlight, music and beer are once again on the menu as we enter the third evening of the Farsons Great Beer Festival. The festival features a fine mélange delivered by this year's stunning performers," said Pierre Stafrace, marketing manager at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. "We are pleased to offer our consumers a free ten-day event full of entertainment and activities while promoting an increasing number of Maltese talents."

This evening's entertainment will begin at 9 p.m. on the Main Stage with a performance by the Country Brothers, warming up spectators with their joyful country-style music. This band will be followed by Red Band who will hit the stage at around 10 p.m. Fans of alternative music will be able to enjoy the sounds of Mind State, Ivan Filletti and Scar on the Rock Stage @ World Beers Area. The alternative music programme begins at 9.30 p.m.

Over the next two days more of Malta's artists will be entertaining the crowds who annually flock to the Farsons Great Beer Festival. Among these, there will be performances tomorrow by singers Nicola Said, Chiara and Miriam Christine Borg on the Main Stage and Tribali, Syrup and Beangrowers on the rock stage. On Tuesday evening, performers will include some of the leading singers such as Mike Spiteri, Claudette Pace, Enzo Gusman, Fabrizio Faniello, while Frenzy Mono and Lord Adder will perform on the rock stage.

A schedule of the performances being held on the main stage and the rock stage is available on www.farsons.com/beerfestival.

XFm 100.2 will be broadcasting the daily evening live shows from the rock stage from 9.30 to 11 p.m.

A competition on the main stage will run every evening until Sunday, where three lucky winners from among the audience have a chance of winning prizes ranging from a mobile phone, merchandise from Vodafone and Ira Losco's CD signed pack. This competition is open to Vodafone users and participants will be asked to send their reply to a simple question asked via SMS.

Ira Losco will be signing her latest single I'm in love again, at the Vodafone stand from tomorrow until Sunday. This CD can be purchased from the Exotique stand during the festival.

"The Farsons Great Beer Festival continues to be one of the most popular events in Malta's summer calendar. Every year the beer festival has maintained its character of a convivial festival and a meeting place for young people and families," said Matthew Cuomo, Farsons Beer Festival organiser.

The 24th edition of the Farsons Great Beer Festival is sponsored for the first time by Vodafone Malta Limited, Danone, Peperami, Veneziani Croissants, Mars Ice Creams, Surplus and Adventure Equipment Store, Sunshine Snacks and HP Sauces.
