The Water Services Corporation, in a counter protest, yesterday categorically denied that the call for tenders for a sewage treatment in the north of Malta had been handled in an abusive and illegal manner.

In the writ, signed by Dr Guido Pace Spadaro, the corporation added that the call for tenders had been carried out in line with the laws and regulations applicable at the time.

The corporation was reacting to the judicial protest filed by foreign company Resco SRL, against the corporation and the Director of Contracts, in which the company claimed that the call for tenders had not taken place by public offer as stipulated by both local and EU law.
