All three vice-presidents and treasurer in the Malta FA executive committee will again be re-elected for the next three years as no other candidates were nominated for the officers' post when the closing date for this month's elections expired on Wednesday evening.
Carmelo Bartolo, John Farrugia and Ludovico Micallef have again been nominated for vice-presidents ahead of the association's annual general meeting on July 31. Treasurer Alex Manfrè will retain his post until 2007.
President Joe Mifsud, however, faces an election for his seat for the first time in 12 years. His only contestant in a ballot open for club officials and member associations' delegates - 100 in all - is Joe Caruana Curran, the former Valletta FC president.
Among the items on the AGM agenda, besides the elections, are the addition and/or alterations to the statute and the appointment of an external auditor of the association for 2004/05.
The election of 11 ordinary seats in the Executive Committee will not take place in all divisions.
The two Premier League posts will be retained by Joe Gauci and Paul Spiteri. Ivan Calamatta and Charles Calleja will represent Division One clubs and Salvu Vella and Joseph Farrugia those of Division Two and Three.
Joe Micallef retains his post as Youth FA representative but an election will be needed to decide who gets the four Member Clubs and Member Associations seats.
Six candidates have been nominated. These are: Raymond Micallef, Paul Sammut and Charles Scerri (Member Clubs) and Lawrence Callus, Joseph M. Cassar Naudi and Alfred Spiteri (Member Associations).
