The first AC Cobra to be assembled in Malta and which was launched at the Go Mobile Trade Fair stand just days ago took part in a drive with a 100-year-old car, known to be Malta's oldest vehicle still in existence.
The 1904 Model B Inguanez Cadillac is owned by David Arrigo.
The event consisted of a run that started at the Malta Hilton and ended in Mdina. Over 61 vintage and classic cars, including the AC Cobra, took part in the event. The cars were also on display in St Paul Square, Mdina.
The Inguanez Cadillac was the second car ever to be registered in Malta and still has the "2" number plate on top of the engine booth. Owned in the past by Colonel Chesey and Baroness D'Amico Inguanez, the car spent 65 years of its life in a garage in Palazzo Santa Sofia, near St Paul's Square, in Mdina.
By contrast, the Go Mobile AC Cobra was manufactured 100 years after the Cadillac, in the newly established facilities in Malta. The AC brand, which has been continuously producing high-performance sports cars since 1901, carries prestige and international recognition alongside other top sports cars.
AC Cars Manufacturing Ltd and its new associated company, AC Advanced Vehicle Technology Ltd, recently started operations in Malta. Lately, Go Mobile and AC Cars signed a co-branding and marketing deal.
