Three men have been charged with threatening, assaulting and injuring the police.

In one case, 19-year-old Owen Cucciardi, of Qormi, was charged with threatening, assaulting and slightly injuring five police constables and an inspector and hurling hard objects in Qormi on Monday at about 8 p.m.

In a separate arraignment, Carmel Dimech, 46, and Ludwig Dimech, 21, both of Zebbug, were charged with threatening, assaulting and seriously injuring a police officer while Carmel Dimech was also charged with disobeying the police.

Superintendent Carmelo Magro and Inspectors Pierre Micallef Grimaud, Maria Stella Cutajar and Jesmond Borg, prosecuted.
