AZZOPARDI. On December 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY CHARLES M.B.E. of St Julians, aged 90, passed way peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Theresita (née Audibert), his children Anthony and his wife Carmen, Carmen and her husband Tony Foland, Noel and his wife Mary Rose, Martin and Simon, his grandchildren Malcolm and his wife Bettina, Alison, Andrew, Nikki and Becky, his greatgrandchildren Ben and Max, his brothers and sisters Rose Loporto, Fr Arthur OFM, Edgar and his wife Maggie, Sr Rose SJA, Alfred and his wife Antoinette and Violet, widow of his brother Joe, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Julians parish church where Mass praesente adavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to St Clare's Monastery, St Julians, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

COPPOLA. On December 3, at St James Hospital, Sliema, SILVIO of Sliema, aged 58, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary, his children Blanche, Kirsten and Karl, his father Santino and his sister Miriam, his grandchildren Dale and Sean, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St James Hospital, tomorrow at 7.15 a.m. for Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 7.45 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

POLIDANO. On December 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 76, passed away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Karmena, his children Charles and his wife Josephine, Twanny and his wife Adriana, Paul and his wife Jacqueline and Alfred and his wife Vanessa, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Safi parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Safi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

Old Aloysians' Association

December 8 annual reunion. Calling all past students of St Aloysius College to celebrate this year's centenary of the college by attending a thanksgiving Mass at 9 a.m. at the college inner chapel, celebrated by the Jesuit Provincial, Fr Paul Chetcuti, SJ, Fr Rector Patrick Magro, SJ, the association's spiritual director, Fr John Scicluna, SJ, and other past students members of the clergy. Dog Show

The Maltese National Canine Federation will be holding its Annual Championship Dog Show at De La Salle College, Cottonera on Saturday and Sunday.

Marion Spavin, from the UK, will be judging the dogs.

Over 250 dogs from 44 different breeds will be taking part.

Gozo Book Fair

The committee for the monument to Pope John Paul II is organising the Gozo Book Fair, an exhibition and sale of books at the Exhibition Hall, Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria.

The fair will be open on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. till noon.

Prelude to Christmas

The Amadeus Chamber Choir will present A Prelude To Christmas, an amalgamation of traditional Yuletide carols and contemporary choral pieces under the direction of Brian Cefai on December 21 at 7.30 p.m. at St John's Co-Cathedral. Christmas Bazaar

The Augustinian Community will hold a Christmas bazaar at the oratory of St Rita's Chapel, Lourdes Lane, St Julians, from Friday to Sunday. Proceeds go towards the funds to undertake the extension of the chapel and the supporting facilities.

Christmas Concert

The Collegium Musicum Choir and Orchestra will give its annual concert on December 18 at 7.30 p.m. at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta.

The Collegium Musicum will be presenting works by Praetorius, Handel, Adame, Goss, Buhagiar, Bach and Gruber, amongst others. Daniel Lichti, an international Canadian baritone, will be interpreting excerpts from Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Handel's Messiah.

Caravaggio and his influence on other artists

Professor Nicola Spinosa, Soprintendente per il Polo Museale di Napoli will deliver a public lecture today at 5.15 p.m. on Caravaggio E I Caravaggeschi A Napoli.

The lecture will be held at the Science Lecture Theatre, next to the library) at the University of Malta, Msida. Parking in carpark 6.

Lascaris Letterbox

The letterbox at Lascaris Wharf, Valletta, near Customs House, which had been temporarily out of service due to repair work, is back in service

Course for clergy

A three-day updating course for the clergy will start at the Seminary at Tal-Virtu, Rabat, today.

The subject is San Gorg Preca: Kuragg U Profezija: Vizjoni U Azzjoni Pastorali Llum.

Among those attending will be Archbishop Paul Cremona.

The course is organised by the Commission for Theological and Pastoral Updating.
