Six famous Chinese painters and photographers from the province of Guangdong will arrive in Malta tomorrow to exhibit 100 of their paintings and photographs at the Poseidon Hall of the Suncrest Hotel, Qawra, which was kindly made available without charge to the Malta China Friendship Society by the hotel's owner, Angelo Xuereb.

The artists, accompanied by a high level Guangdong government official and a correspondent from the Guangdong newspaper, Nangfang Daily, have been invited to Malta by the Malta China Friendship Society.

The exhibition, which marks the society's 30th anniversary, will be inaugurated on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. by the mayor of St Paul's Bay, Paul Bugeja.

The Bank of Valletta, the Link School of English, the Malta Tourism Authority and Sign-It of Ta' Qali have assisted the Malta China Friendship Society to make this visit possible. Some of these artists' works have won prestigious Chinese and international awards.

Before leaving Malta on Wednesday the artists will call on Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech at the ministry in Valletta.
