July 4 was World Day for Captive Dolphins - animals whose right to freedom has been lost to the whims of the entertainment business of dolphinariums and marine parks, Cetfree, a coalition of local and international NGOs, said.
Cetfree said it was alarmed at the increasing trade in dolphin species which are often captured in countries with less rigid conservation legislation, such as Cuba, to be exported, at great expense, to other countries where they are displayed in dolphinariums and oceanaria.
