A group of 25 illegal immigrants was brought into the AFM Maritime Squadron base at Haywharf early yesterday.

The group of 17 men and eight women were brought in by a patrol boat after their vessel was intercepted, having been located by a patrol aircraft 50 miles south-east of Malta.

Preliminary investigations show the migrants are from Somalia.
