Greece coach Otto Rehhagel rejected suggestions he could be next in line for the Germany manager's job after Ottmar Hitzfeld turned the position down.

Moments after his team qualified for the Euro 2004 final against Portugal, German Rehhagel was again asked whether he had considered coaching his own national team.

"My job is to deal with my boys and the team and prepare them for the final," Rehhagel told reporters. "Nothing more, that's what my role is and nothing else."

Rehhagel has repeatedly said he would honour his extended contract with Greece which runs until 2006. Rudi Voeller quit as Germany coach after the team's first-round exit from Euro 2004.
