The police solved 49 cases of theft in May, when 845 thefts were reported, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told Labour MP Gavin Gulia in reply to a parliamentary question.

The minister said in reply to another question that 440 persons were found guilty of a criminal act in May, when a total of 1,480 crimes were committed.
