Christopher Borg is the new director of planning at the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.

Mr Borg, an architect, has worked as a planning officer with the authority. He worked for the Malta Development Corporation for a number of years and was recently seconded to Malta Industrial Parks Ltd.

For two years he was a member of the Development Control Commission and for the last year he sat on the Planning Appeals Board. He is also a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design.

Mr Borg takes up his new post this morning and will be responsible for a broad range of policies covered by the Development Planning Act.
