Looking striking at the Michael Attard Ltd showroom in Blata l-Bajda, the new Peugeot 407 was launched in Malta on Friday adding a new dimension to the Peugeot brand, and introducing a car rich in dynamism and elegance.
A worthy successor of the 406, the 407 is Peugeot's new saloon in the middle to upper segment.
A re-modelled air intake grille and generously large headlamps distinguish it from other Peugeot models moving away from the traditional Peugeot style giving it a "highly evocative" front yet retaining the feline feel Peugeot enthusiasts have become accustomed to.
The 407 is claimed to provide power, strength and security including nine airbags; new generation ESP and HDi engines; new V6 with six speed tiptronic automatic gearbox and a Euro NCAP rating of 5-4-2.
On display at the showroom in Blata l-Bajda was an SR version 1.6 16V HDi (110 bhp) with a 51.3 mpg combined drive cycle. There is also a 2.0l 16V HDi (136) TD 320/340Nm six speed version. The car is also covered with a 12-year anti-perforation warranty, two year manufacturer's gurantee and three years on the paintwork.
