Munxar, Ragalna twinning

A twinning agreement between Munxar and Ragalna, Italy, was recently endorsed.

A delegation of 38 from Munxar visited Ragalna to attend the ceremony. During the five-day visit Munxar Garden was inaugurated in Ragalna and the delegation was given the opportunity to visit the Etna, Taormina, Acireala and Acitrezza, Catania, Siracusa and Ortigia.

During the ceremony Ragalna mayor Vittorio Carone said he is happy that the twinning agreement between Munxar and Ragalna has been concluded and is looking to the future for the benefit of both localities.

Munxar mayor Joseph Sultana augured that the co-operation between the two localities would continue to grow and become stronger. A speech was also delivered by Munxar parish priest Fr Frankie Bajada. After the ceremony mementos of the occasion were distributed and a meal the traditional food of Ragalna was held.
