OHSC is for the first time in Malta offering a new and revised "Managing Safely" course with an IOSH - UK Certificate. The course will be following EU directives and covering the local OHSA revised legislation in occupational health and safety.
The IOSH "Managing Safely" course, in conjunction with OHSC Malta, has designed this nine module course for people in supervisory or management positions in all types of organisations, who need a broad understanding of health and safety at work. The aim is to give these managers knowledge to help implement good practice for health and safety in the workplace.
There are no formal entry criteria for admission to the IOSH managing safely programme. The course covers reactive monitoring, risk assessment, health and safety legislation, electricity, work equipment, housekeeping, display screen equipment, noise, chemical safety, active monitoring, safety management systems, manual handling and a team building and leadership programme (abseiling, which is held outdoors).
There are two parts to the assessment for this course. The first is a question paper which covers the whole range of course subjects and the second is a written project. Both of these assessments are completed at the end of the course. An IOSH certificate will be awarded to successful candidates.
The course will be held between 2 and 6 p.m. on July 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29 and August 3.
The course costs Lm275 + VAT per participant. It covers all training costs and other incidental expenses including handouts and other training resources.
An IOSH - UK Health and Safety Training Certificate will also be presented to all participants.
The course is available for the first 15 participants and will be held at the Occupational Health and Safety Centre, 111/3 Manoel De Vilena Street. Gzira.
The modules are delivered by IOSH (UK) licensed course providers.
