A Valletta man has been conditionally discharged for two years for making a false declaration when he swapped the registration plates of a car with those of another.

Edward Farrugia, 24, pleaded guilty to altering the plates, driving a car without a licence or insurance cover and the possession of cannabis on and before August 12, 2002.

Police Inspector Stephen Mallia prosecuted.
