A 27-year-old man was yesterday put on probation for two years after he pleaded guilty to defrauding a company of Lm140.

Rueben Scicluna admitted to defrauding Alfons Enterprises Ltd in Hamrun on July 12, 2002.

Magistrate Abigail Lofaro noted that Scicluna had paid back the money defrauded and a jail term was not appropriate.

Inspector Joseph Cordina prosecuted.
