The Works Division of the Ministry of Resources and Infrastructure has ordered the contractor who laid the tarmac in Wilga Street, Paceville, to redo the work at his own expense after a test showed that part of the street was not up to the established standard.

The ministry said that all the newly laid roads in Paceville were being tested to ensure that the "ambitious project" would be complete and up to standard by the end of the month, as established.

The lower part of Wilga Street would be closed to traffic tomorrow.
