Camenzuli not for sale

Birkirkara FC yesterday issued a statement making special emphasis on the fact that William Camenzuli is not on the transfer list.

The club, the statement said, has full and complete confidence in their international defender and intends to hold on to him for the remaining four years of his running five-year contract. Team manager Joe Abela said it is the club's intention to strengthen the squad for the coming season and not to weaken the team by letting go one of their stalwarts.

Camenzuli, reportedly linked with a move to Sliema Wanderers, has not yet started pre-season training but, according to the Stripes' statement, it seems that all differences 'have been ironed out and he has promised that he will resume training in the very near future'.

Abela added that no other club had asked to open negotiations on Camenzuli's transfer.
