Students who took part in an educational programme organised by the Malta Tourism Authority called Choice received prizes they won in a competition in which they had to submit tourism-related projects.
The main objective of the programme is to raise awareness and promote careers in tourism industry among secondary school students. A total of 5,000 students benefited from the programme in the past four years.
Over 1,700 students participated in the Choice programme this year. Students from each of 24 schools, including two in Gozo, took part in the programme and were invited to participate in the competition.
The first prize, a trip sponsored by Corinthia Hotels International and Air Malta, was won by Luana Busuttil and Stephanie Scicluna from the Convent of the Sacred Heart with their project called Hospitality Catering.
The second prize, a weekend break sponsored by Corinthia Hotels International, was awarded to Danila Buontempo, Deborah Schembri and Francesca Camilleri from St Martin's College.
The third prize consisted of a set of limited edition books and was won by Frankline Galea and Maria Daniela Formosa from the Convent of the Sacred Heart.
