On October 14, 2003, on the advice of my family doctor, Michael Gonzi, I applied to the Director for the Elderly and Community Services, for the home help service.
This was received by Ms De Lucca, who onpassed it to Mr Pullicino on October 17. In turn, Mr Pullicino onpassed it to Mr Azzopardi on October 21, who was very busy and called at my house on December 4 with the normal questionnaire. I was later informed that the board was to meet on December 16, 2003. However, this meeting was never convened as Ms De Lucca was indisposed. Since then there has been complete silence.
I have again written to the department in question and a copy to the Minister of Social Services, on May 11, 2004, asking them whether at least they would have the decency to inform me what their intention was, after all this delay.
I also informed them that I was aware of retired persons, even younger than I am, and enjoying a better income than myself, who are enjoying this service. This letter was acknowledged by the department on May 20, 2004.
May someone inform me whether anybody is responsible and accountable. Or maybe, they are waiting for this to be solved naturally, like other things that happened to us lately.
