If you are sold an inferior product or service, you have the right to go back to the seller and demand compensation. In such situations consumers can take their cases to the Consumer and Competition Division, (CCD), Office for Fair Trading, Cannon Road, St Venera (freephone: 8007-4420) or the Consumers' Association (CA), 43/10, Zachary Street, Valletta (tel/fax 2123-9091).
The CCD and/or CA will try to achieve an amicable solution/redress and, if this is not achieved, the case is then referred to the Consumer Claims Tribunal to exercise their right to redress.
If consumers are satisfied with inferior products and services, they have only themselves to blame. Because when consumers do not demand redress for inferior products and services, businesses are not aware of them and the others are caught in the same trap.
