Charged with stabbing husband

A 27-year old woman from Bugibba was yesterday granted bail after she was charged with stabbing her Syrian husband in the morning.

The woman was charged with stabbing her husband in an argument at their own flat.

The husband, who is in hospital, is expected to be charged shortly.

The woman claims her husband used to beat her and yesterday morning she caught him with another woman and he ended up stabbed in an argument.

She told the court her children lived with her mother at Rabat as her husband did not give her enough money to maintain them.

The court granted her bail against a personal guarantee of Lm5,000 and ordered her not to live in the same flat until the case was decided.

Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.
