The Girls' Schools Sports Association (GSSA) is the branch within the Malta Students Sports Federation which organises activities for female students attending church and private schools.

The first activities this year were the U-16 football and basketball tournaments. San Anton School turned out to be the strongest in both competitions, winning the honours without conceding defeat.

In the football final, San Anton beat St Dorothy's 7-2. The basketball competition saw San Anton's two teams winning all their matches with San Andrea School finishing close behind.

San Andrea fared better in the U-13 category. They won the football tournament, conceding just one goal in the process. Then they equalled San Anton's success by finishing first in the basketball tournament, unbeaten and ahead of St Dorothy's and San Anton.

The last activity of the scholastic year was the athletics meeting.

Not all schools could make it on the day but the competition was tight as points were crucial in deciding who lifts the Aggregate Cup.

A number of athletes had some remarkable results, with Francesca Bartolo (San Anton), Roberta Schembri (Sacred Heart), Antonia Zammit (San Andrea) and Emma V. Bianchi (Sacred Heart) obtaining two first places in their categories.

The junior Aggregate Cup went to San Anton. San Andrea were second. The seniors Aggregate Cup was won by Sacred Heart. They chalked up 175 points, 14 better off than San Andrea.
