A flute and harp recital by Giuseppe Nova and Caroline Calleja will bring to a close the eighth International Bir Miftuh Music Festival organised annually by Din L-Art Helwa.

The concert will be held on Saturday at 8 p.m. at the historic 15th century church of Sta Marija ta' Bir Miftuh.

Mr Nova is one of the leading Italian flautists of his generation and Ms Calleja is a talented Maltese musician who was awarded first prize in several national and international competitions and in 1996 represented Malta in the European Music Competition for Youth in Dublin. She is principal harpist with the National Orchestra and has worked closely with internationally renowned musicians.

The programme features works by Corelli, Paganani, Donizetti, Massenet, Ibert, Chopin, Ravel, Grandjany, Vianello and Glück.

All proceeds will go to Din l-Art Helwa's restoration projects.
