Melita Cable yesterday launched the Extreme Sports channel, which should keep thousands glued to their television screens.

The new channel content includes compelling viewing of a range of extreme sports, including skateboarding, snowboarding, kite-surfing, as well as the lifestyle, music and fashion that go hand in hand with these sports.

Launched on Channel 18, Extreme Sports will replace the Leonardo arts and variety programme.

"Extreme sports are a fast-growing leisure segment. As many of these sports are now becoming mainstream, we are delighted to provide this channel to our customers," Michele Dandria, Melita Cable senior corporate executive, explained.

Information on the new channel line-up can be found on www.extreme.com .
