¤ The feast of the Christ the Saviour is being celebrated in Ghasri today.

Concelebrated Mass will be led by the parish priest Canon Dr Edward Xuereb at 8.30 a.m. Canon Joseph Zammit will deliver the panegyric. The Lauda Sion Choir will also take part.

Vicar General Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci will lead a concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the Stella Maris Orchestra at 6.30 p.m.

The procession, led by Gharb archpriest Mgr Carmelo Gauci and accompanied by the La Stella Band, leaves the church at 8.30.

An evening of music will be held on Saviour Square at 10.15.

¤ The feast of St Anthony is being celebrated at the Franciscan church in Mgarr today.

The Franciscan provincial, Fr Paul Galea will lead a concelebrated Mass at 9 a.m. There will also be the blessing of the traditional bread of St Anthony.

The procession with the statue of the saint, led by Fr Galea, accompanied by the St Joseph Band leaves the church at 8 p.m. The Ite ad Joseph Band will play marches in St Anthony Street while the Mnarja Band will perform on the church parvis.

¤ A ceremony to mark the victims of Sette Giugno, the June 7, 1919 riots, is being held in front of the commemorative plaque in Bullara Street, Xaghra, where one of the four victims, Guzè Bajada, used to live, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Mr Speaker Anton Tabone will preside the event.

¤ Victoria council is organising a number of activities to celebrate Victoria Day next week.

The La Stella Band will play marches in the streets tomorrow at 6 p.m.

A cultural evening with performances by various choirs and musical groups is being held on Independence Square at 8. The Gieh il-Belt Victoria award will be presented to artist Paul Camilleri Cauchi, dancer Felix Busuttil and Adelina Sultana.

A cultural outing for the elderly is being held on Tuesday. Discussions on plants and trees are being held at the local council office on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Pupils of Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School will visit the council offices on Thursday at 10 a.m. Prizes will also be given to the best three essays on "The city where I live".

Students are being taken on a cultural activity to Malta on Wednesday.

¤ The International School of English of the Malta University Services Ltd, in collaboration with the University of Malta Gozo Centre, is organising a part-time evening TEFL Introduction Course starting on Saturday.

This course is recognised by the TEFL Monitoring Board of the Ministry of Education. The registration fee for the course is Lm100. Those interested should contact the University Gozo Centre on 2156-4559 or 2156-2054, fax: 2156-4550 by Tuesday.
