Two groups of orphaned children from Russia will be arriving on Wednesday and on June 18 to spend their summer with host families, joining another 98 Russian orphans who are already here.

For the last six years, the philanthropic International Charity Society has been running a Social Rehabilitation of Children with Families programme for orphaned children and children in need from Russia.

Through the programme the children are brought to Malta for a "dream holiday" and stay with Maltese host families.

Families who would like to host children can contact Irina Malikova on 2169 2298.

A delegation from the Vishni Volochek city government in Russia has just been to Malta in connection with the children's visit and to strengthen cooperation with the island.

The delegation also called on Archbishop Mgr Joseph Mercieca.
