The Labour Party will maintain its commitment in favour of tourism, even through the European Parliament, Labour leader Alfred Sant pledged yesterday.
Speaking to employees of the Danish Village, Dr Sant said tourism was an essential part of the economy and the MLP's representatives in the European Parliament would give special importance to policies that could affect tourism.
Dr Sant described the Danish Village as a success story and said the MLP would fully support its expansion plans. He stressed that the MLP had a special interest in the success of the project since it believed in the need to create more tourism-related jobs.
