I had supplied the reporter with a list of programmes that have formed part of this current schedule and which are produced by or directed to university students. Unfortunately, he mentioned only one programme targeting students. Permit me to amplify.
Programmes include It's Debatable, produced by the students of the international relations course, Bias, with the participation of foreign students and Nghixu l-Kelma, a religious programme with the participation of students part of the Chaplaincy team.
Theatre students have produced Political Theatre and Revolution in the 20th century and Theatre Traffic and education students produced stories for children. Music students will be recording Gregorian chant in June. This schedule has also included Shades of Green, a programme about environmental education targeting students taking environmental studies. Campus FM has also just finished broadcasting the seminars in the Work in Progress series.
Future students of the university will be targeted by the programme Dis-course, produced by the Students Advisory Services, planned for the upcoming schedule. Students will also be pleased to listen in to the Putumayo World Music Radio Show kicking off in June.
The management wishes to reiterate that plans to have programmes by and for students, and focusing on university life, after the summer recess, are still on! The only change that has happened was the removal of commercial music which had a negligible audience and which is extensively available on other stations.
