Renald Cutajar, 31 of Senglea was yesterday cleared of raping a 14-year old girl.

The court, presided by Magistrate Antonio Mizzi noted that the police had started investigating the case after the girl's father had lodged a report that Cutajar had sexually molested his daughter.

Although it was claimed that Cutajar had made love to the girl against her will on the back seat of his car, medical evidence had shown that she was still a virgin.

Cutajar was thus cleared.

Dr Joe Giglio appeared for the accused.

Inspector Sharon Tanti prosecuted.
