The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has written to the government expressing its concern at the publication of new health and safety regulations without prior discussion having taken place within the board of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority.

The union noted that this was the first time since the setting up of the authority that regulations on health and safety were not discussed by the board.

The union asked the minister responsible for occupational health and safety to allow time for the authority's board to discuss and scrutinise the regulations.

The UHM wanted to know why regulations were published before the social partners had been invited to give their views.
