Who cannot be elected in the European parliament?

Ministers of each member state of the European Union, the European Commissioners, members of the Court of Justice in Luxembourg and officials of the European institutions cannot be elected members of the European parliament. As from next month's elections, no MEP can serve also as a member of his or her national parliament at the same time.
