The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has sealed off illegal premises, known as Country Castle, at Wied Garnaw in the limits of Gudja.

Mepa officials went on site on Wednesday to seal the illegal rooms and one of the main doors, leaving only the possibility for access on foot to the areas that are not covered by its enforcement notice.

The authority intends to remove the illegal structures at the owner's expense and has informed him both personally and in writing, it said.

It will continue to monitor the situation to guarantee that the stop order remains in force, it said.
