Pet hate

I refer to my and Lija councillor James Camilleri's letter (April 15) proposing careful traffic planning and the provision of community facilities in the development of a housing project in Attard.

The response to our positive suggestions from the chairman of the Housing Authority was a diatribe against Alternattiva Demokratika (May 5).

Our concern is to avoid the introduction of heavy traffic to village cores and to seize the opportunity of any development to provide missing sports and community facilities to Attard residents. It is incomprehensible that a public officer should respond in the vicious and propagandist tone adopted by Marisa Micallef Leyson.

It appears that AD is Ms Micallef Leyson's pet hate and that she is allowing her phobia to cloud her professional judgment.

As regards scaremongering, this is the speciality of Ms Micallef Leyson's favourite party, the party of the government that appointed her chairman of the Housing Authority.
