Maltese and French students visited each other's countries in an exchange programme between St Joseph School, in Caen, Normandy, France and St Edward's College and the Convent of the Sacred Heart.
The Maltese, 13 girls and 11 boys from Year 10, were hosted by French families. A number of excursions to the most important sites relating either to the ocean or to World War II were also laid out for them. Paris remained the most striking visit of their stay.
The students were sad to leave their new friends and the snow, which some had seen for the first time. However, they were looking forward to meeting them on the exchange visit.
The return visit came at the end of April and the French students loved the excursions by boat and Malta's cultural and historical heritage.
Tears were shed at the airport with promises made to meet again soon.
