A Naxxar man who threw a bucket full of dog pooh at a car carrying his wife was yesterday given a nine-month jail term suspended for two years.

The court noted that marital problems existed between the couple.

The court heard how the woman spotted her husband leaving their house with another woman. He spotted her too and went back into the house. He then went on the roof, collected dog pooh in a bucket and threw it off the roof, smashing a window and slightly injuring those inside the car where the wife and the daughter were.

The court noted that the car owner did not want compensation for the damage inflicted on the car and that the man and woman were undergoing separation proceedings. It also noted that the man felt threatened as his wife used to tell him she would slash his neck.

But the court also noted that the man could have seriously injured people, including his daughter who was inside the car and was a minor. The court felt that a suspended jail term was ideal in the circumstances.

Inspectors Denis Theuma and Simon Galea prosecuted.
