Message of support

This is a short message to support the candidature of Simon Busuttil for the elections of the European parliament in June.

I know that support from Albania, a country which is not yet part of EU, might seem a bit strange. This support is not linked to any particular political or organisational membership but to Mr Busuttil's European commitment, which has had an impact in Albania as well.

In June 2003, Dr Busuttil assisted in a very committed and professional way the Albanian negotiators on the stabilisation and association agreement Albania is negotiating with the EU and shared its extraordinary experience in EU affairs with interested public officials and people in Albania.

I am writing this message on behalf of the European Centre, an NGO operating in EU affairs in Albania, and we really hope that through Dr Busuttil's election not only Malta but even the European idea will have a stronger and professional supporter at the European parliament.
