Eight cars were damaged yesterday morning when a whirlwind caught a 30 by 10 metre marquee at Pinto Wharf.

The marquee, put up by Sign It for the EU celebrations, has already been replaced. No one was injured but the road had to be closed until 11.30 a.m.

Sign It representative Reuben Caruana said the whirlwind pulled the marquee away leaving two much smaller tents next to it untouched.
