The Football Frenzy School recently organised a trip to England during which the selection had to play six games in seven days.

Despite the demanding schedule, the Football Frenzy team did reasonably well. They won two matches, drew twice and lost the other two for a goal-scoring record of 23 in favour and 17 against.

Among the opponents was a strong England school representative team and others from academies in the south of England, including Reading.

The Maltese players were led by Panos Brimpos and Terry Wateridge.

Brimpos, from Greece, is currently seeking to extend his career in the UK.

In summer, he will attend pre-season training with Eastleigh FC, coached by Mark Dennis, formerly of Southampton and Birmingham City. Eastleigh will be a full-time professional club in the Conference League next season.

Brimpos also met Reading director of football, Nicky Hammond and the possibility of training with the first division outfit was also discussed.

Scarborough, East Stirling and even Maltese clubs have made their enquiries about the Greek player.

After watching the Reading-Norwich Division One match and meeting up with the players and coaches, the Football Frenzy squad were given Reading FC training tops and mementoes of their first foreign tour games abroad.

Football Frenzy have been invited back again with a view to playing more matches and training sessions. Certainly, this is a great incentive for the organisation and Star Soccer Agency who aspire to see more of their members trying their luck abroad in future.

Football Frenzy results: vs Homefield Academy 3-3; vs Terry Wateridge Academy Weymouth 1-4; vs Homefield Academy 6-0; vs Bournemouth Academy 1-5; vs Bournemouth Academy 3-3; vs Moredown Athletic Academy 9-2.

Goalscorers: George Attard 7; Sean Borg 4; Benji Cassar Bernard 4; Matthew Gauci 3; Dale Camilleri 2; Sion Thomas 1; James Paris 1; Kearney Attard 1.

Man of the Match awards: George Attard 2; Dale Camilleri 1; Matthew Gauci 1; Wallace Galea 1.
