The Malta Centre for Restoration in Bighi (Kalkara) will hold an open day to mark the fifth anniversary of its opening and on the occasion of EU accession.

Visitors will be able to see the different stages of the restoration process, equipment and techniques that are carried out at the centre. The open day is being held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Other EU membership activities today include a parade by the police at 7 p.m. at the Strand in Kalkara. A precision drill presentation will follow at 7.30 p.m. and at 8 the Police band will play popular music.

At 8 p.m. the Christ the King Band is due to hold a concert on Paola Square.

Tomorrow, an exhibition of paintings by Spanish artist Gonzalo Martin Caleo will open at the Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa. The exhibition, which will remain open till June 30, will be inaugurated at 7.30 p.m. by Spanish ambassador Maria Rosa Boceta and Foreign Minister John Dalli.

At 6.30 p.m. local artists, singers and actors will perform on Great Siege Square in Valletta.
