Girls of Form 2 of Immaculate Conception School, Tarxien, recently organised a French Cuisine Day as a culinary project for their French culture. The students were encouraged by their teacher of French, Melanie Borg, to conduct research on French food. Then each student chose to cook a recipe of her own choice. The result was wonderful.

The cold buffet featured 30 culinary specialities from different French regions. To start off, everyone enjoyed some amuse-gueule. For mains, there were various flans and quiches. The grand finale reserved a wide selection of tempting French gateaux, pastries and crêpes au chocolat.

The Form 2 girls served the food with a smile as they enjoyed the reaction of the other students who were pleasantly surprised by their food.

The Provincial, Sr Rosaria, the headmistress Sr Giovanna, the community secretary Sr Fausta, the assistant head, Mrs R. Privitelli expressed positive comments, much to the students' delight.

The students were also grateful to their parents for their support and for the exquisite food they prepared, and to all the teachers, especially their form mistresses Katya Compagno and Katia Marie Vella for their help in making this event an unforgettable day.
